Lean Operations Manager

Job Summary: The person hired for the position of Lean Operations Manager will primarily be responsible for all aspects of the Production Operations and the Site Lead for Business Transformation (BT).  This includes Environmental Health & Safety and Regulatory, Staffing, continual improvement of production efficiency through use of lean principles and the overall site preparation for BT Go Live. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  Production Management responsibility of all production activities of the plant.  Accountable for driving continuous improvement in EHSR, productivity and quality. Coordinates operating activities so that products are manufactured on schedule, within quality standards, and meeting cost objectives as directed by customer focused value stream feedback. Responsible for directing lean initiatives and operational improvements throughout the facility. Works to continuously engrain and improve the Rockland Lean Management System; including daily tier processes, problem solving activities, Total Productive Maintenance, Value Stream Improvement and 5 Year Flow plans.  Actively participates in relevant corporate lean programs/initiatives and ensures alignment to IBG/IATD strategic goals. Responsible for Site BT Readiness and Deployment (scheduled to Go Live November 2020).  Primary contact for all site-level activities, ensures effective internal and external (Division/Business/Corporate) communication of site progress.  Manages resource plan, tracks primary metrics and progress to target timeline, and escalates road blocks impeding progress. Member of Rockland Leadership Team Basic Qualifications:  Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution Minimum six (6) years of experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing operations, project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, product development, quality, and/or research laboratory. Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership and/or supervisory role Preferred Qualifications: Previous production or value stream/product management experience Master's degree or higher from an accredited university Three (3) or more years of Lean experience Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Ability to influence and gain consensus in a matrix organizational environment. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
